Manual Therapy ,Massage, and Trigger Point Therapy
Just like in humans we can use massage therapy on our patients. Research in both human and animal studies has provided evidence of the effectiveness of manual therapies for pain relief, improved joint mobility, relaxation, increased circulation, and for an improvement in function following injury or surgery.
Manual therapy can include a variety of techniques including passive range of motion exercises and can be of great benefit to joints, allowing for greater movement and significant pain relief.
Trigger points are sensitive areas within muscle tissue that cause pain. They can form acutely in athletes as well as in patients with chronic orthopedic or neurologic issues. Trigger point therapy helps to release these constricted areas, thereby alleviating discomfort.
